Police Quest II: The Vengeance is the second installment in Sierra On‑Line’s Police Quest series, released for MS‑DOS in November 1988. Designed by Jim Walls, it runs on Sierra’s SCI engine and emphasizes police procedural gameplay with a text‑parser interface.
Years after arresting notorious criminal Jesse Bains, detective Sonny Bonds is promoted to the homicide division and engaged to Marie Wilkans. When Bains escapes custody and kidnaps Sonny’s fiancée, Bonds must follow proper forensic procedures, gather evidence, and track him across locations including Lytton and Steelton. The escapee’s revenge becomes deeply personal in a race against time.
